WELCOME

Welcome to the Albuquerque Public Schools Student Transportation Services Website.

This office oversees the 16 bus contractors that transport 37,923 of the District's children to and from school. In order to ensure the safest, most efficient ride, buses, drivers, bus routes/stops, and loading/unloading zones are audited and evaluated on a continual basis.

Together, with the District, teachers, contractors, drivers, parents and students, this office is happy to oversee the SAFE RIDE of every eligible student in the District.

Specialized Transit Services

The Albuquerque Public School District (APS) is the 25 th largest school district in the nation serving over 89,000 children. APS Student Transportation Services oversees 16 bus contractors that transport over 37,000 of the district's children each day to over 140 locations. For the 2006-2007 school year APS utilizes 419 contract buses and 80 additional spare buses. Collectively APS buses travel over 6.1 million miles annually. School transportation is provided throughout the regular school year and during the summer for those schools on a “Year Round Calendar” and those on an “Extended School Year”. In addition, transportation is provided for various school sponsored activities.

40th day 2006-07 Regular riders 37,503 and 420 Vocational Riders. The APS 40th day enrollment was 89,309.
